The fruit for this intensely flavored Mourvedre comes off a block of 60+ year old vines which were planted on the site of an old Almond Grove. The block is situated on alluvial soils in the Willunga foothills and has an east-west orientation. The color of the wine is a freakishly dense deep purple, with hints of black and blue. The juice is equally as rich and intense, but exhibits a fine balance of both power and elegance. Black and blue fruits mingle with nuances of exotic dry spices.
