2006 'Cafe Block' Shiraz
The “Café Block” Shiraz comes from vines planted in the early 1950’s. On the south-west boundary of this prized block there are still remnants of a Café that is now a wine bar. Sand over clay is the predominant soil type. This is a freakishly intense Shiraz with a noticeably dark, opaque purple color. Strikingly intense aromas of blueberry and raspberry with hints of violets are immediately evident. Those same characters dominate the palate. Mouth filling and lush with delicious secondary characters of coffee, mocha and spice. A standout Shiraz in any language
